The Elements of Poetry

This address was presented to the Monroe Poetry Society (Monroe High School) on April 17, 2006. Over 500 high school students participated in a week long "Celebrate National Poetry Month" seminar developed by the English Department of Monroe High School.

To those of you who have previously visited our Poetry Forums, you will no doubt recognize Mr. Richard Deets as Richard.

Richard is a frequent contributor on the Forums. He regularly supplies his insight, tips and other bits of Poetic wisdom with those who share their poetry on our Forums.

His love of poetry, his vast knowledge about Poets of all eras and genres and his skills as an educator are obvious to any aspiring Poet lucky enough to have received his critique.
