Poetry by Bryan P. Mix
This poem was wrote during a time in my life where I was faced with the reality that people are not who the seem to be. I have always tried to take people at face value but have realized that in most circumstances people have underlining meanings for the words and actions that they use. Specifically this poem reflects a particular friend that I had that used me to get something (someone) they wanted and caused a lot of heart ache for me. After the situation was cleared he tried to mend the friendship and, of course, was unsuccessful.
In every persons life there comes a time when you realize that you are now an adult. The loss of your childhood can sometimes be painful or it can occur without you even realizing it. This poem reflects this point in my life.
this is a poem about a personal addiction. not with drugs, alcohol, or gambling. One that resides deep within me. This is something that I am not sure that I will ever be able to let go!
