Death of a Friend Poem

My best friend Josh got into a car accident one June 29, 2006 he was my best friend and I miss him so much here's a poem just for you Josh I love you buddy

I Will Forever Miss You

© Nicole Kooienga
You Always put a smile on my face
no matter how mad I was
all I had to do was call you and you would make everything better.
The day that I heard that you were taken from us my heart broke.
I Dropped down to my knees and cried and cried.
All I wanted was for one more day with you
As I sit here at your grave looking at your picture.
All I want to do is hug you and laugh with you and play basketball with you.
I miss you so much we all do.
and when you died.
The whole town felt the pain.
You were only 16 years old.
You didn’t deserve to die.
You wanted to get married and go to college
Have babies and have a family.
You've been gone for a year now and I miss you like hell
I think about you everyday
It’s getting easier.
But every time I look at your picture or pull out the scrapbook my eyes start to water.
I will never forget you
Joshua Craig Harris
I love you and miss you,
but I know that your in heaven
looking over all of us..
I can’t wait until I get to see you again

In Loving Memory of Joshua Craig Harris

I was looking for a poem to read at my best friends memorial service. He was hit by a pickup at the age of 13, and died on the scene. We were in the same middle school, and were each others best friend. The whole school cried that day. When I came across this poem, I cried like I cried the night I found out that he died. This poem is perfect.

This poem really touched me when I read it. My best friend died at the age 13 an it's been 6 years. We were more like sisters we did everything together an I wasn't able to tell her goodbye. Till the day of the funeral. She is gone and I can't call her to get her to make me smile any more. I loved this poem it really touched my heart and I hope that it does the same for someone else that reads it
