Funeral Poem for Family

Just One More Yesterday

©  Jackie
I would trade all of my tomorrows for just one yesterday,
I'd plan out everything I'd do and know just what to say.

If I could take back time and pause yesterday
I wouldn't have let it end that way

I prayed and cried for you to live,
but now I'm in front of the casket with a speech to give.

You deserve a better funeral but this is all we could afford,
but money doesn't matter when you’re in Heaven with our great Lord.

Please take a while from your busy day,
and listen closely to hear what I say.

You were a good grandma, you were always there for me,
now your watching over me, and I promise you will like what you see.

Even when I close this speech,
you will never be out of reach.

Your smiling in my heart,
we will never be apart.

When they lift your casket in the grave,
I am going to hold back my tears and try to be brave.

If I could take back time and pause yesterday
I wouldn't have let it end that way.

I would trade all of my tomorrows for just one yesterday,
I'd plan out everything I'd do and know just what to say.
