Grandfather Death Poem

Next Poem >>

Written in memory of a grandfather who passed when his grandson was three years old.

Buddy

©  Claudia Lee
I am your buddy
That's what you called me
I am your buddy
And always will be

It's been a while now
Since you went away
But I still remember
Those bright summer days

Riding on your tractor
And having lots of fun
Or out in your garden
Playing in the sun

I was your little shadow
On this we both agree
But you went away
When I was only three

Still I am your buddy
And always will be
You are my Peepaw
Now watching over me
