Loss Poem

I miss you Granny!

Blurred Vision

©  Joel Mckeown
As I watch the horizon blur, I wipe you from my eye
I’ve seen you here before, lately you’ve stayed close by
The lady that I know as mom has returned to the Lord’s dust
Creating a whole no one can fill, but in the Lord I trust
Trusting in the Lord will not keep the tears away
Or the rage that I keep bottled up, this depression is here to stay
I Know one day I will see you again and I know you are in a better place
But I must see your face some day I can not wait until God’s grace.
My horizon is blurred, I know not what to do
I wipe the tears out of my eyes put on my socks and shoes
The journey I will take will be to that blurred horizon
So I can take you out oh tears and leave you for the Lions
Because if she were her she would say “Joel don’t you cry”
And for this I will cry no more, I will hold my tears inside.
