Grandfather Death Poem

I was close to my grandma. She kept me while my mom worked. She had a beautiful place with plenty of room for a child to play. She spent time with me and I treasure her memory.

Country Garden

©  Stephanie Evans
Out in the woods
a distance from the city,
there is a country garden
with azaleas pink and pretty.

They outline the curved driveway
all in a row,
Their sweet smell brings back memories
of a time long ago.

Grandma speaks so softly
Honey, how are you?
as she reaches out to hug
I can't help remembering a love so true.

I can hear grandma in her room
as I listen from the hall,
I remember sweet singing
as she hung a picture on the wall.

Grandma sang praises to God
and she lived it too,
She taught the children love
Gently as we grew.

Grandma filled the house with love
she is tenderly missed,
as I walk through the country house
I remember a precious kiss.

Grandma went to heaven
when the angel came,
I was softly crying
will it ever be the same?

Oh, I love you grandma
tell me, do you know?
I will wait to find out
when it's my time to go.
