War Poems
War is one of the mysteries of the human existence. It is clear that in 99.9% of wars the loss outweighs the gain. The loss of life of young men in their prime is horrific. Those that do survive often have post traumatic stress disorder. It is clear that this is not the way we were meant to live. After all the devastation that is caused in the field of battle, countries often make the decision to withdraw when they can no longer bear the casualties.. War is a curse of mankind. It is a function of the ego's need to assert its superiority even in the face of its own destruction.
