Wise Friend Poem

Next Poem >>

A girl gives advice to her friend to come clean and renew her spirit.

Shine

©  Bryel Marston

She thinks her life is in shambles
Maybe it is, maybe not
Repaired with glue
Left out in the sun too long
Smile once bright, now faded
Like a touch lamp
Dim, bright, brightest
Needs replacing
My best friend in the world
Her soul and heart there
Hiding in the shell she's made
Just for them around herself
Break your shell now
Dear girl, shine your smile
Brighten the darkness
Uncover the lies.
