This poem is based on the first world war. I wrote this poem as I looked at the war memorial in my school. Wondering, how devastating it must have been for the families of their lost loved ones.

where red poppies lay,
bodies decay.
people pray,
for their loved ones passed away.
trenches blown to shreds
soldiers left for dead
a world that has been broken.
will the wars never end?
