I'm going on a school trip to Belgium tomorrow, to the war memorials and reconstructed trenches. we were all asked to write a poem or a prayer and we could read it out if we liked. I don't know what to do with mine so I wanted some feedback to see if its good :)
You Will Be Remembered
I don't know that uniform that was once on your back
Or the medals you could have worn
Or the family that loved you
That were broken up and torn.
How I wish I could say I know of your name
and of your great importance
But if there wasn't a war
A great one at that
would you have just been forgotten.
We may not know of your name
Nor know where you came from
But we know you died for us
For us to live in peace.
