The beauty of the winter
Winter Comes
©
Richard Giron
Dyed leaves lay across my path.
Softly winter comes
Black crow calling out forlorn
Sun shines through my window still
The dark sky forebodes
Brown bear soundly sleeps nearby
Mountain high in sight turns white
Breathe the scent of pine
Wolves play in the blinding snow

This is my first attempt at a haiku. This time honored form of poetry is special in the sense that it evokes a response from the reader through imagery. I dedicate this poem to my nephew Ricardo who is a very special young man still in the spring of his youth.
