True Friend Poem

Everyone needs a good friend...no matter how desperate a friend might become...

I'm Here

© Natalie Kidd-Gronner
You came to me filled with despair
how I wish I knew how to handle your fear
Life took you for a ride;
addiction, broken heart…
where do we start
Look into my eyes...do you see the ray of hope
please don’t think you’re at the end of your rope
I’m here my friend
I’ll guide and comfort you to the end
whenever you’re in need
take my hand
wait and see
Let’s sing a song
where we can turn and laugh as friends
I’ll walk a mile to see you smile again
You are so very dear to me
if you only knew
the possibilities I can give you
the fears would fade without touching a blade
You have the key
the key to my heart
this is a good start
Take my hands
don’t be afraid
let’s walk together
into the future as friends
today and everyday
it won’t be a piece of cake, but I’m here to stay
I’ll be your eternal light
not only for tonight, but for the rest of my life…
