A Lesson For Life

I never met him
but he means a lot
He was a friend
but only in my mind

Inspirational and caring
heartwarming and kind
He had many friends
people thinking of him all the time

I wish I met him
before he passed on
But cancer struck him
they finally thought it was gone

It returned with full strength
we all sat and embraced
What would happen next
Sadly, it took him with many others

I never said goodbye
didn't have a chance to say hello
I miss him inside
and wish he didn't have to go

I love him for his strength, hope, and gratitude
He always had reason to be in a bad mood

He still looked for the best in everyone and everything
he taught me lessons that I will remember for life!
