All I've Ever Known

It's time for us to leave,
But I wish that we could wait.
This has been dreaded for too long,
And I'm not ready for this pain.

But before we leave each other,
Before we have to go,
There's something I must say,
Some things you need to know.

You're all I ever wanted,
The one thing I needed,
The only one who could find
The very best in me.

The only one who saw
My empty, broken heart
And worked your way right in
To fix the broken parts.

You are my everything,
And I hope that you can see
You're everything I asked for,
Just what I needed you to be.

I hope you'll always know
There is a special part
Saved up just for you
Right here in my heart.

Deep down, we both knew
This ending would come at last,
And now that it is here,
It's happening way too fast.

Everything we had
Will soon be lost in time.
The memories will fade,
But I'll remember this goodbye.

It breaks my heart to know
I won't see you ever again.
These are our last moments,
And they're coming to an end.

If you don't remember this,
Then just before you go,
Get this one last thing.
This you have to know.

You're the first one I let in
And the first I'm letting go.
I will love you always.
Your love is all I've ever known.

I'm moving away from my school, I have a lot of friends, so it's hard on me. My mom told me I'm a bright person and I'll make friends easily, but I don't know about that.

I've been dancing since I was two years old. Now I'm a senior in high school, and I'm quitting once I graduate. The reason I'm quitting isn't because I don't love it. I do, but I'm not at a healthy enough weight to continue this much exercise, and I haven't been for years. I made a deal with myself that I would quit once I graduated, and now that the time has come, I'm scared. Long story short, I've read this three times in the span of an hour, and my face has ended soaked each time. Thank you.

The guy I thought I was so in love with after almost 2 and a half years walked out on me because he chose his parents over me. This poem helped me move on and forgive what he did, although I don't think I could ever forget him, even if I tried. We stopped talking recently when I completely moved on from him. I know that I wasn't in love with him, I was just in love with the idea of someone like him loving me. It took me almost three years to figure out that before I let anyone love me, I have to love myself first.
