Fall Poem

Things Coming To An End

Out walking on a blustery autumn day, I saw a rose shedding its petals. It reminded me of tears falling and made me think about dreams and hopes fading when a relationship ends.

Autumn Memories

The rose weeps a tear
For the close of the year.
Leaves whisper the turn
While bonfires burn
Their memories of kinder times,
And swallows yearn for warmer climes.

Spring hopes are flayed
As bitter winds lash
False memories.
Promises made
Blacken to ash.

They shiver and weep,
Fearing winter's long sleep.
