Adoption Poem
A child who is orphaned shared the exultation that she feels when she is finally chosen.
To My Mom And Dad

I was born in Russia, an orphan I was
all alone, with no one because
All the people picked others
the Fathers and Mothers
No one wanted poor Katya at all.
But one day along came a woman
with bright smile an friendly face
She said she wanted to give me a place
We went to America to live with her and my Dad and my brother.
She became my very own Mother.
Now I'm so happy, living here with them. I never want to go back there again.
