It is June 17, 2007
It is Father's Day
All is well and good

Then in one moment:
  My skin gets clammy
  My mouth starts to water
  I feel like I've been punched in the stomach
  The air rushes from my lungs
That moment I felt like something was wrong

Is that the moment...
   When you died?
Is that the moment...
   You were saying goodbye?
Is that the moment...
   You knew you weren't coming home?

It is the moment my world changed
    The moment I knew that I would never hear your voice again.
    The moment I knew that I would never see your smiling face
    The moment that left an empty space in my heart.

I'm a twin too. My twin passed on the 3rd of May 1993 when we were 11 years old, we were still young and didn't understand anything about death back then, but now that I'm grown up, all the memories are coming back from the day he died and all the pain I felt over the years... it's been 28 years now since a part of me was taken. It feels like I'm starting to grieve after all these years and I miss him so much.

I lost my twin brother at age 27 my life is empty without him
I am now 48 (no one to play catch with)

I too am a twin, but I lost my brother to a car accident when I was only eleven. Five days after my birthday. He was only 18 at the time, and now at 16 I still feel the weight pressing down on me and I can hardly breathe. I am so sorry for your loss, makes me appreciate my twin even more.

Having a twin brother, Robert, who I last saw on Father's Day, June 19, 2011, and passed away 6:15 am on June 20, 2011...I can really relate to Athena Gordon words.
