Forgiveness Poem about Love

I wrote this for my mom. She was addicted to drugs the entire time I was growing up. She was never around, and neither was my dad, but a girl needs her mom a little more than her dad.

Despite the heartache and crap you put me through
I forgive you
Despite the pain and anger I've had in my life
I wish you were near
Despite the tears that fell from my eyes
I will always love you
You are my mom, and nothing can change that
Despite the fact that you were never there
I still want you to be!

The mum thing is so hard. But even now I'm in the darkest place, I feel like I have learned so much. Why I feel the need for this kind of learning, I don't know. If she didn't watch me fall I might be a very vain, shallow person. I forgive you, Mum, for not being perfect. You tell people you weren't abused, but I know you were. I will never stop craving a warm and fuzzy mum, but your food is awesome, and I know that's how you show your love. I'd die for you if I had to.
