Dream Poem

It is just saying you may love something, but don't get to caught up with it. Don't let your dream control you. You have to face reality.

Dreams

Like a resort as you drift off at sleep,
another world is waiting for you to keep.
Where is your body when you are in your dream,
Is everything really what it seems.
In dreams, what you want comes true,
Just let your dreams take you.
Into an imaginary land, where you are the author,
Where things have no meaning,
And you have no feeling.
Where your thoughts all drift together,
Just don’t get caught in your dreams forever.

  • When I was 10 I always dreamed that I'm a teacher.
This was for a poor family like mine something impossible because we lived in a very small village in Iraq with no money for school uniform, bag, books...etc.
I actually gave up but inside me the motivation and hope was still there.
Then after one year my father decided to leave Iraq and go to Europe to ensure a better life for us (mum, my elder brother and me).
We were accepted as refugees in Germany and lived there for 12 years. It was the best chance in my live, I learned German and studied that language at a German University and now I am teaching German in Iraq. Sometimes I think it is still a dream.
