Hurting Poem by Teens

Fly Free As A Bird

Well I'm only 14 but have been through a lot that no one can see. Poetry is a way to express my true feelings. I shared with friends and family and they said I should try to publish them. So I typed this one up here and if I get good responses then I will post more. I have always loved poetry. It gives me a way I can share my true feelings. I lost a true loved one and this is about them and how I feel.

Morning Birds Of Love

©

Published by Family Friend Poems September 2008 with permission of the Author.

It's amazing to me
How cruel love can be
To someone who has been through it all
Just to fall
Into the darkened sea
That always seems to be.
Fly free as a morning bird
Just to be heard
By that one person who
Never knew.
To spend your last wish
To soar into the abyss
For that someone to hear the unspoken words
Of the morning birds.
No human understands
Until it lands
Close enough to the edge
To be pushed over the ledge,
So they listen to love's words
Or the talk of the birds.
To finally understand brings
The final wings
To soar above
To hear the words of love
And hear the unspoken words
Of the morning birds.

This poem is just like my life and how I feel inside because a lot of shit has happened to me and I felt really sad and lonely that I started to self harm. I haven't still got over it and I probably never will because I'll never escape the pain and torture I always will feel
