Poem about Family

She grows in beauty year by year.

I Dreamt Her Here

© Kendal A. Martel

She dreamt with us at the speed of growing,
all the while she sat there knowing
that we'd put our childhood on our shelves,
she tried to save us from ourselves.
and she'd just sit there in her swing
with glowing smiles and growing wings.
She'd watch us as autumn leaves turned brown,
and as summer shimmered all around.
She flew slowly like the changing year,
that changed like different types of fear.
She held us and hid us from our pride,
she dreamt slowly like the tide
that washed her over the last year
Her beauty flew, I dreamt her here.
