My Dove

You make me laugh when I want to cry
You're honest to me you have never lied.

When my fears disappear,
You make my problems seem so clear.

The Lord created you from the stars above,
He sent you from heaven for me to love.

I'll give the angels back their wings,
Their golden harps and all their things.

I never thought I'd feel this way
I figured now I need to pray

While I'm here and you are there,
I'll send you my soul as I kneel in prayer.

Thank you lord for my heart you gave,
Thank you lord for the path you've paved.

Give me strength in this hour,
Give to me the highest power.

Send a message to the one I love,
Tell him I am sending my turtle dove.

One that is white and has my spirits within,
Tell him if he cries that it's not a sin.

Lord, watch over him as he is over seas,
And then, dear Lord, bring my daddy back to me.
