Mother Daughter Poem

Pride and joy fills a mother as she watches her daughter become a mother herself.

Child To Mother

© Taisha S. Jennings-Robinson
Precious, pretty and lovely as can be holding you, squeezing you, thatís the mother in me.
First talking, then walking small steps and tall, now running and singing you slowly learning it all-Time for school learning your ABC's and 123's yes I am proud and oh so pleased.
When times were rough and I was scared, you touched my hand to show you cared.
High school, dating and then college, mommy is so proud you soaked in all that knowledge.
First a bayou those preteens, now an adult, you knew it all until your baby came now what a funny jolt.
Hugged you, kissed you, and squeezed you tight; mommy was always there to kiss you goodnight.
And as I watch my child and hers start anew, you holding and squeezing your baby, now thatís the mother in you.
