Divorce Poem
My parents got in a fight over church one morning, my dad was kicked out of the house and now it's almost as if he was never here to begin with..
Not Your Little Girl

I was ten years old
when a fight one morning
destroyed my family
without even a warning.
I was young and dependent
and he was strong and wise
but little did I know
my Dad was full of lies.
He made empty promises
and he broke my heart
through many painful years
my life has fallen apart.
Now he likes to drink
to numb his pain away
while I have to endure
intense pain everyday.
I am now 14 years old
in this harsh cold world
if you don't want to be a Dad
then I’m not your little girl.
when a fight one morning
destroyed my family
without even a warning.
I was young and dependent
and he was strong and wise
but little did I know
my Dad was full of lies.
He made empty promises
and he broke my heart
through many painful years
my life has fallen apart.
Now he likes to drink
to numb his pain away
while I have to endure
intense pain everyday.
I am now 14 years old
in this harsh cold world
if you don't want to be a Dad
then I’m not your little girl.
