Long Distance Love Poem

I wrote this poem for a special crush. Someone I have never met who is suffering from a joint disorder and is in immense pain. I want to show her that I want to feel the way she does and I have a distant connection with her through the stars. If she feels like she can't catch that falling star then I will catch the moment for her and one day when we are together I will express to her what it was like to feel for her at the time.

Our One Star

© Colby Barker
Look at the stars tonight
As we see the same light
And in that moment
It will be alright
If you miss a falling star
I'll catch it for you
Keep it in my heart
And we can share it too

Keep holding on
As life goes along
Pain is short-lived
As you are so strong
I will hold your hand
And look in your eyes
But it is only then
That our star will shine.

  • That is beautiful... Hope she's a lot better now.. Was in her position at one time.. With a man I was in love with who was far away.. So your poem really did get to me..

  • I used this poem to tell my man I miss him. He's a marine stationed in Japan and I'm here in the states. Soon, it will be even harder because I am joining the military too. It's something very new for both of us but this poem was great to help me express that its going to be fine.

  • This really hit the spot for me... I'm in love with a guy who lives in Cali where as I'm in Texas. One night we had a conversation about the stars. Since then I've only thought of him when I looked up at the stars.
