Death of a Friend Poem

How can he live with himself when he knows that the person that he loved most is dead because of him? This poem discusses drinking and driving.

The Silent Tear

© Chelsey A. Jones
Near the door
He paused to stand
As he took his class ring
Off her hand
All who were watching
Did not speak as a silent tear
Ran down his cheek
And through his mind
The memories ran
Of the moments they walked
And ran in the sand hand in hand
But now her eyes were so terribly cold
For he would never again
Have her to hold
They watched in silence
As he bent near
And whispered the words
I love you in her ear
He touched her face and started to cry
As he put on his ring and wanted to die
And just then the wind began to blow
As they lowered her casket into
The snow this is what happens to man alive when friends let friends drink and drive.

  • This was very sad, it made my cry,
It is very hard, to say goodbye.
A friend of my moms, died like that too,
She'll still cry about it, I know she'll do.
I'll rate this poem 5 stars, cuz it's very emotional and sad,
It's very good too, not too bad.
This poem is beautiful, it made my cry,
But I got to go now, so I'll say goodbye. ^-^

  • omfg, I relate to this so much, I just recently lost 2 of my greatest friends due to a car accident, even though it was just weather, they thought it might have been impaired driving. luckily it wasn't. But this made me cry for I miss them greatly. I lost the first friend on scene of the accident because of head trauma, and the second exactly 2 months later, because of too many problems I cannot even begin to start with.

    I love this a lot.

  • This was sad... I wanted to wipe away my tears but invisible tears are the hardest to wipe away. This poem is heart-touching. I love it.
