A Friend

I've never had a friend so dear
A friend who's there to dry my tears

Now that time has taken its toll
You're still my friend while I grow old

Years have brought about a change
But I won't worry you're still the same

People may walk away and leave but
You're are here to share my grief

As life goes on, I will praise you name,
Because the love you have has never changed

You've been my friend though thick and thin
I glorify your name until the end

No matter what others may think
I'll yell, scream, and give you all the ranks

Now I close my letter to you my friend
But my heart is open please come on in

I love you
