For A Friend Forever

Though it's only been a short while,
I've never had a friend like you,
But soon you will be leaving me,
And I don't know what to do.
Your love and understanding
Have brought me a new hope.
I wish that I could keep you here,
Tied to me with a rope.
Why do you choose to leave me?
I ask with confusion and pain.
Don't let me go back to feeling alone.
When will I see you again?
The miles soon stretched between us.
What will happen to this bond?
Will we reunite to find
That this special tie is gone?
So many questions I have.
My heart filled with fear,
Dreading you will leave me
And never shed a tear,
Unlike this desperate aching
In my heart that won't let go,
Which leads me now to tell you
Something you must know.
The friendship you have given me,
The joy you bring my soul
Has filled me with such strength
And love once unforetold.
How can it be so short?
This time we've spent together.
I thought you would remain here
And love me 'til forever.
Sadly, wishful thinking
As I now have come to see,
But remember please this thought
When you think of me.
We may soon be separated,
But I'll remember just the same.
Forever in my heart
Is where you will remain.
I wish that when you leave
We'd remain the best of friends.
You'll be in my thoughts
'Til I see you again.
How can I say goodbye?
No words, just tears fall
From my eyes and sobbing heart
That knows you after all.
The hours spent together
Will soon dwindle down to few,
Forcing me to let go
And start this year anew
Without you here to talk to.
Searching for a friendly face
That knows all too well
They can never be replaced.

I have a best friend who I started talking to in February of this year. I met him in person September 1, 2018. After that we hardly talk. I miss the way we would talk before we met in person. He's getting ready to move from Albuquerque to Los Angeles. It's either 2 weeks-6 weeks from now. I'm trying to talk to him but can't get a response back. I love my best friend and care so deeply about him. He knows more about me than any of my ex-boyfriends do. When I'm sad, he cheers me up. He doesn't want me sad, depressed, feeling sick, or hurting. I can't ask for a better friendship or best friend than him. All I ask from him is to spend a weekend together before he moves 1,000 miles farther than he is now. Sit down and talk and let him know how much I truly care, trust, and love him. After all, he is my best friend.

One of my best friends, Christine, is going back to Germany. She moves a lot since her dad works in the European Embassy. I am 11 years old and really upset because she's been one of my besties. She's leaving in 3 days, and it's really said. She is so funny and beautiful. I'll really miss her. Three days, and it's really sad. She is so funny and beautiful. I'll really miss her!

Your poem is soo touching. I made it my dedication to my best friend who passed away in a car accident. She was the best thing to happen to me, encouraged me through high school and no matter what happened she always had my back, knew my deepest secrets and it's soo hard to let her go, struggling to really accept she is gone but I understand about that it all happens for a reason.

When I read this poem it touched my heart it reminds me of my best friend Ann. She was smart and then she died about a year ago and we were there for her and I just cried for her and it was the saddest day ever and I did not want to leave her be her self and I try to take her out of the ground but, I couldn't because they would not leave me with her for a minute and I cried when I got home.

My best friend just suddenly left this morning. We didn't even get to say our goodbyes and I really miss him. He didn't just move a few blocks down from me but he moved out of state. I miss you Javier and I hope I'll see you again.

I had a friend that was the best, but she got this boyfriend that wouldn't let me spend time with her. We could only talk on the phone, or on Skype. I thought I lost my only best friend, but then she saw how sad I WAS, AND DUMPED HIM. That was 10 years ago . I'm 20 right now. She's been always there for me, and now I'm repaying her back on here.

When I read this poem, it reminded me of my time back home before I emigrated. Life is no longer the same here and is difficult to make friends because of language barrier, I miss my friend back home because we were Sharing everything from laughter to sorrows. Life without friends is painful, I can't wait to go back home again where I feel loved.

I lost a close friend of mine. We went to camp together and worshiped God there. We also always sang together and he was the only person who I could sing with. It broke my heart to find out that on November 8th, the day before my 16th birthday that he had died in a car accident. I couldn't believe I had lost my best friend in the world. He was the most talented singer I knew and now I have no one to sing with besides myself and God.

On April 16th my brother was going hunting with a friend. My brother was sitting in a chair at the side of the road his legs were hurting, A boy came from down the street in his bath robe to hunt turkeys, said he saw a turkey, he shot a shotgun, then picked up a 22 gauge rifle with was not for hunting turkeys, he shot it and hit my brother it went thru his arm, lung, heart, in his other lung, out his other arm. My brother died then, we went to court he only got 20-32 months in prison, my brother was born April-21st died April 16th and buried on April 20th one day before his 64th birthday, The pain has left a hole in our family, he left behind eight grandkids .

I love this poem a lot..it made me cry and think about my best friend and the time when we moved from the city and I left her. She's the only person who understands me and feels me..its like we were soulmates in the life before. We are soo close ..and may this friendship of ours last forever.

I love this poem a lot. I have a friend like this. Her name is Annie. I can say that she is my sister. It is like she is my life. I love her from the bottom of my heart. Before I hated her like anything and I thought that she was a spoiled brat but I was wrong. Slowly I came to know more about her. I think we have the same likes and dislikes. I don't know how to express my love to her. Though we differ from each other, I don't care. It is the first time I got a true friend who crossed my heart. I believe that we will be best friends forever.

I have a friend who I've known for just 3 years. Although it does not seem long, she became such a good friend of mine that she is practically my sister. I love her to the death. Although I knew that in the end we have to say goodbye, I always thought at least I would have 1 last year to be with her. But now, all of a sudden she says she's leaving. My heart sank, and I tired up. I didn't know what to do but sit in silence.

My son broke up with his boyfriend of a year and a half, he lived with us and we became really close. We had our fall outs, we were a family. Now he is gone, my heart aches he was like a son to me. How do you say sorry, its out of my hands there is nothing I can say or do to change things back, I will miss him and hope he finds someone who can love him as much as I do this poem really touched my heart.

I lost a friend a long time ago. He died in a car accident and this kind of reminds me of how the next year I had a hard time looking for a friend because everyone I compared him to weren't him. He was irreplaceable and it took a lot of grief and pain to realize the mistakes I made. I pushed everyone away because somehow I wanted him to come back and be my friend again.

I recently lost a really beautiful female friend of mine just before Christmas, when we were together my heart would dance a merry dance, when we were not together my heart felt broken, I miss her and love her so very much as she had shown me how to love and live again, now that we are not together my heart and soul will never dance a merry dance again unless we are together again, Orla I really miss you and still love u with all my heart and soul,:-( xxx

I have a friend that I do not know that long, he is very close to my heart. He is leaving and now my heart has been shattered into a million little pieces. He is one of those friends that will stand by you through every situation that you come across. He really crawled into my heart and now he is leaving me with just a memory.
