Missing You Poem
With a loved one away and waiting for news of his return everything seems to take on an added meaning.

I saw a sunrise,
And I felt a smile inside.
I saw that particular one,
And I cried.
For sadness is not a usual outcome of such a beautiful beginning to a day,
But a happy cheerful one should arise.
Only, for me it is not the same,
To see such a mournful painting across the skies.
From the dawn of a new,
To the end of an old,
I can do nothing but pray,
That you will be here again to hold.
I miss you dearly.
I know you will be back,
But when is what I am fearful of,
And of any kind of attack.
I saw a sunrise,
And I felt a smile inside.
I saw that particular one,
And I cried.
It saddens me to see such a thing,
Across the sky, a sea of blood,
The reddest of reds.
It sends chills up my spine of ice cold.
There is nothing to do.
Just wait day to day,
Until you return,
Or we hear word of your okay.
I saw a sunrise,
And I felt a smile inside.
I saw that particular one,
And I cried.
And I felt a smile inside.
I saw that particular one,
And I cried.
For sadness is not a usual outcome of such a beautiful beginning to a day,
But a happy cheerful one should arise.
Only, for me it is not the same,
To see such a mournful painting across the skies.
From the dawn of a new,
To the end of an old,
I can do nothing but pray,
That you will be here again to hold.
I miss you dearly.
I know you will be back,
But when is what I am fearful of,
And of any kind of attack.
I saw a sunrise,
And I felt a smile inside.
I saw that particular one,
And I cried.
It saddens me to see such a thing,
Across the sky, a sea of blood,
The reddest of reds.
It sends chills up my spine of ice cold.
There is nothing to do.
Just wait day to day,
Until you return,
Or we hear word of your okay.
I saw a sunrise,
And I felt a smile inside.
I saw that particular one,
And I cried.
