Father and Child Poem

My dad wanted an abortion for me when I was in my mothers tummy. Unfortunately she kept me safe from him. He isn't a bad man. I love him. He was just being a dumb young boy. I have been to 2 foster cares. There is a whole bunch more to my crazy 12 years of life. It is sad.

Unknown Father

When I am around you , I am shy,
Knowing we don't know each other like apple and pie.
I wish we could see each other more,
When I am with you, every minute I adore.
I have had a bad life and am trying to clear the glass,
All the bad memories I have to pass.
I have seen, heard, and felt too many in my time,
Those rocks I have learned to climb.
When you have a birthday make me come on your mind,
Because you and me will always be entwined.
Happy Birthday!!!
I love you lots!
I made this myself :) love you.

  • I read this Poem. And the short story of it. Stopped for a second to relate to this. It's been 9 years and I don't know still who is this man (father). I've been to foster care since I was 13 got out at 17, rebel around and now have a son. Now I'm a father lost and not knowing how to be one, I say this poem made my day. I was looking for portraits to make of me and my son this came up. Point being your not the only one kid. Well live life, forgive never forget that 1 guy (father). Be the one you always look for and dream of. Peace and a hug. Life is longer then time sooner or later you'll get the point.

  • I was delighted when I heard that my father was been released from jail after 12 years of seeing him occasionally between a glass during the times I went with my mom for a visit. 7 times "I kept counting". Now that my mom passed a year before, having my second parent will somehow fill the space the other left. He didn't, he became a stranger and unknown and to this point "I don't care where and what he is up to... At 25 I still won't care.
