We Aren't Afraid

We aren't afraid
Of shadows in the night
Things that howl
Or a terrible sight

We aren't afraid
To be covered in slop
To be screamed at and abused
In the middle of a strop

We aren't afraid
Of milestones not reached
Lack of social skill
Or lack of speech

We aren't afraid
To be beaten and bruised
To pin down our children
While judging eyes accuse

We aren't afraid
To challenge and fight
To get the best for our kids
And do what's right

We aren't afraid
Because our children
Deserve the best
And until they have it
We will not rest
