What Could Have Been?

She could have had my eyes,
his cute button nose.
But I took the easy way out,
now sadly no one knows.

He could have played sports,
maybe been best on the team.
But I took his life so quickly,
he didn't even have a dream.

I could have been a great mother,
so much love and a lot of care.
But I killed my baby,
now I hold grief that I can not bear.
