Poem for Her

Sweet Poem For Girlfriend

This is a poem to my beautiful girlfriend, Summer. From the beginning, I asked Summer if we could build a relationship the old fashioned way. This poem is my way of asking her permission to love her...

Would It Be Ok?

Published by Family Friend Poems February 2016 with permission of the Author.

Would it be ok if I took some of your time?
Would it be ok if I wrote you a rhyme?

Would it be ok if I opened my heart?
Would it be ok if I took on the part

Of being your man and showed you a view,
One that only a real man could do?

Would it be ok if I could make you smile?
Would it be ok if I held you awhile?

Would it be ok if I kissed your face?
Would it be ok if I were to replace

All the men in your past that just wouldn't do
And vow to be faithful and always be true?

Would it be alright to look in your eyes?
Would it be alright to never tell lies?

Would it be alright to find a way?
Would it be alright to long for the day

To pull you close and whisper in your ear
And tell you our feelings are nothing to fear?

Would it be ok if I took some of your time?
Would it be ok if I wrote you a rhyme?

To tell you there's nothing I'd rather do
Than spend my whole life loving only you...

I love this poem. I wish someone would say those words and make me feel how this poem made me feel. I just wish I were hearing those words from someone right now. This poem touched me deeply.

This was the sweetest thing that I have ever heard/read. I have a boyfriend, and this just made me long to hear those words come out of his mouth. This reminded me of a Hallmark movie and it was SO cute!

I might not be the kind of boy everyone would call a perfect boyfriend. I might not have everything and might not be able to make you smile every time I was an alcoholic, a gangster, a jerk, but from the day I met you, I could never stop thinking about you. And from the day you accepted me and when you became the love of my life I changed. I never felt this happy with any other girl. Whenever I see you smile, there's always a happiness in me. I might not have been much of anything, but believe me, I loved you more than anyone. I loved you more than me.

My wife sent me this beautiful poem during our long break. After reading and examining it carefully, we solved our differences and came together as one.

It's a pleasure to lend you my time
And even to create a rhyme
I would love to open my heart
Because I know you won't tear it apart.
You're already my man and sure you do
And that's what a gentleman can do
You never fail to make me smile
And held me though we're apart for a thousand mile
Your kiss is all I miss
And you're not a replacement.
All those men in my past are just memories too,
But I'm thankful because you're always true.
It's totally fine to look me in the eyes
Because I know you never tell lies
Love, we will find a way
And I know we can make it through all day
Just pull me closer and whisper on my ears
With you by my side I have nothing to fear..

It's my girlfriend's reply to me on your poem. She is legendary.

You’re my love. I want you. Every time I see you I don’t know what to say to you. You’re more important than money. I don’t know how you love me, but it’s funny. I want to be the one who calls you honey. I don’t want to leave you. You’re my love. I don’t usually write, but I could do anything for you. When I saw you, I just knew. When you leave me for a second, I cry. When I saw how beautiful you were, I knew I had to try. When you leave me I am not fine. I want you to be mine. Your love is the best, and I am glad that I am your first. I give you all of my trust.

I just sent this to my girlfriend. It's crazy. I was reading it, and I never thought I could feel the way I do right now for someone. Your poem is amazing. I'm waiting for my girlfriend's response. Hopefully it brings us closer together. Great poem. Amazing job! And thank you again.

I sent this to my wife in Japan. She told me it brought a smile to her face every time she read it, especially the times we are away from each other separated by an ocean from each other. I love you, Akiko.

This hits home very much. I got into a relationship not too long ago, and this is the perfect poem for what I have been wanting to say to her.

It really touched my heart. If the same poem were sent to me by my husband, the answer to every line would be a big yes. Thanks for the wonderful poem. God bless you.

I sent this to my girlfriend. She said a thousand times yes to everything. She wants me to take as much time as I can handle. She wants me to be with her whenever possible. She wants me to write all these poems, send her poems, all the time telling her how I feel. This was an amazing poem. Thank you!

A poem I can truly relate to. The poet touched a single spot in my heart. After having going through a second divorce in 3 years the fear of getting hurt again lies just below the surface. How do you tell a woman that you have feelings for her, that you have fallen for her without scaring her. The poet makes it easy by asking the questions and letting the girl answer. Truly a touching poem with far reaching effects for a new long term relationship.

Thank you for making it available.

The format he used was Anaphora. Anaphora is the deliberate repetition of the first part of the sentence in order to achieve an artistic effect.
