Baby Poem
I've always wondered what it would be like to wake up and find your baby not breathing or something wrong with your baby. I decided to write about what it might be like and I put a happy ending to it
Your eyes opened and looked at me

I woke up this morning and looked at the clock
You're usually up by now eating
I went in to check on you
You looked so peaceful that it scared me
So, I gently put my hand down on your small chest
I could barely feel it rise and fall
I immediately thought of my aunt and how she lost her baby
I couldn't imagine losing you
So, I dialed 9-1-1
In less than ten minutes there were so many people surrounding you
They were using words I had never heard nor could I ever pronounce
All of a sudden I watched your small eyes open and look at me
As to say, "I love you, Mom, and you got here just in time"
You're usually up by now eating
I went in to check on you
You looked so peaceful that it scared me
So, I gently put my hand down on your small chest
I could barely feel it rise and fall
I immediately thought of my aunt and how she lost her baby
I couldn't imagine losing you
So, I dialed 9-1-1
In less than ten minutes there were so many people surrounding you
They were using words I had never heard nor could I ever pronounce
All of a sudden I watched your small eyes open and look at me
As to say, "I love you, Mom, and you got here just in time"
