Childhood Friend Poem

Adolescent friendships are often mad and intense, sadly not always permanent as much as you can be convinced they will be at the time -some long ago recorded memories of those sometimes dangerous escapades before you have to become a fully fledged adult

Youthful Escapades

© Lisa Oliver
On the stage of life we tried to play our parts
I'm sure we will always stay within each others hearts

God saw us both in our confusion, kept us safe from hate and intrusion
From people that never cared or liked our mad ways and our different sights

As you said Diane, we danced and sang - on the cold night air our music rang
From radio batteries that kept going flat
We had some guts girl, you have to admit that

At times we have lived rough and wild, your sensitivity is that of a child
You will never grow up and neither will I
My dear Diane don't even try!
