1. She Is...
She is a rebel, she is a dreamer
She is an Angel, she is a schemer
She is a Weeping Willow, she is a Redwood tree
In many traditional cultures, fathers and mothers would pray for a boy who would be able to help in the field. In these cultures, the value of daughter was not understood. A father has a special relationship with his daughter as she will judge all men by his standard. A mother's task is to show her daughter the complex task of growing into a woman. We no longer live in an agricultural society and woman are free to accomplish intellectually and occupationally what they couldn't in the past. A daughter may one day play the role of mother and wife. Raising a daughter is an infinite gift.
She is a rebel, she is a dreamer
She is an Angel, she is a schemer
She is a Weeping Willow, she is a Redwood tree

My bond grows stronger each passing year,
My love will never disappear.
From the moment you were born,
My heart is filled with joy, and you I adore.

Happy Sweet Sixteen, my dearest teen.
Here she is, already sixteen!
My pretty little girl grew up too fast,
Wonderful poem! I can feel the love that you beautifully expressed toward your daughter! It is a very touching poem! I know how you feel, as my daughter is almost 15 year old now. I will show...
I don't know what you're going through,
But I hope you understand,
I'm just trying to be your mum
And give you a guiding hand.
When I first held you in my arms,
You were so perfect and so small.
You are a full-grown woman now;
And I am proud, oh how!
D azzling is your smile; it lights up my way
A s I go about my mundane chores every day.
U nfailingly, I look forward to our daily chat.
G enuine and deep is our bond, I believe that.
If you could see what I see when I look at you,
You'd definitely love you, too.
You would hold your head up high,
For you possess beauty that no one can deny.
This is so beautiful! I also struggle with self-esteem issues...my mom has passed, but I feel like this is something she would say to me. I feel like every girl should hear this growing up as...
She's not a baby anymore.
It's a happy kind of sad
When baby girl turns to daughter
And Da-Da turns to Dad.
Love's force swells my heart
Until it feels tender and bruised.
I look at my daughter and see myself reflected in her face.
My bones, my flesh and blood run through her.
Lovely poem. A nicely composed piece. Watching a child grow can be amazing, but missing them cannot be avoided.
God rewarded my life with the smile of my baby girl.
She's brought great joy to me since the hour she entered the world.
Her spirit allows me to see the beautiful world through her eyes.
That child has made a mammoth improvement for many people's lives.
I have 3 daughters and 6 grandkids. I'm blessed to have them all in my life. This poem represents exactly how I feel. Very good.
For the first time, I saw your face,
And in my heart you filled that space.
I closed my eyes, and you were one,
Wow this was an unexpected thought which happens I am sure in every mother's life but rarely thought over, and very carefully placed. It left a smile on my face. Thank you for this beautiful...
To my little girl
Precious as a pearl
We've had our ups and downs
We've even gone a few rounds
I can relate to this. I have a niece and nephew who are "brown" and beautiful and so sweet! This was one of the only things I ever argued with my parents about in high school. I had...
my daughter is very special,
kind and very true.
If you've ever met her,
I'm sure you'd think so too.
Very well written. I feel the same way towards my Angel. Thank you for writing this. God Bless.
When I look at you, what do I see?
I see you as a mini me...
The way you laugh, cry, and whine...
I am a mother of 3. They are all very different. Priorities are all different. But I love each one the same. I now have 6 grandkids that I miss very much. We don't live close, so I don't get...
Being a father
Is unlike anything else
It makes you happier
Than life itself
I really liked this poem. This really touched my heart.
Today is the beginning
Of God's perfect plan anew
And from here you'll grow and nurture
All the gifts inside of you
Thank you for this beautiful poem. I can truly understand and relate to the feelings and love that you have for your daughter. My daughter is my world and the very reminder of God's love for...
She brightens up my days from morning till night.
Her smiles and laughter have such a beautiful light.
She's sweet and kind to all that she knows.
Beautiful poem. I love it. I can tell this poem came from your heart.
I look at my child as she looks at me,
And into her eyes I look and I see
The innocence that fills her unspoiled soul.
These moments I wish I could treasure and hold.
Yep, I like the poem very much. I'm also the mother of 7-year-old daughter. It's true, the role of a mother is difficult, but when the seed starts growing into a plant then you cherish it,...
She's a joy, she's an angel - well that's what she thinks
She clings on to your heart like a plug to a sink
She drives you all crazy with make believe games
She'll have you believe that fairies fly planes
The author of this poem is extremely talented. I was very impressed by the thought of having a daughter who did all the little things she did. I had a daughter and gave custody to her dad...
You are a princess in my heart,
and I care for you so much.
I love the fondness in you eyes
and your tender little touch.
I read this poem not long after the birth of my first daughter and it really struck a chord with how I feel about my little girl. I loved it so much that I have put it in her baby book so she...
