I wrote this poem the day after my granddad died. I didn't know myself in or out. I didn't understand how I felt. I just had to write, and so I wrote this.
Goodbye

It's Wednesday 23rd January 2008.
I'm not at school today.
As I was told that my Granddad died yesterday.
I don't know what to do. How to act. What to say....
Strange how those two little words cause so much emotion
Hurt, pain, anger and confusion
I can't express how difficult it is to believe,
That this is no misapprehension
Only a week ago, I saw him in his hospital bed,
That image is imprinted in my head.
Laughing and joking
But now he's gone, he's dead.
