I am 43. My Nan Mercia Berenice (Babs) Robinson. Died on Sat.12.04.08. She was 96. She was fiercely independent. Nan would not leave her beloved Teignmouth. She could be seen most days walking along Teignmouth sea front. I have never written any thing in my life before.

When I was young, arrogant & brave.
You stood on the sidelines with an encouraging wave.
When I was older, bullish & loud.
You still found something in me, of which to be proud.
With a wife & children, came less time.
You made this family, as much yours, as mine.
Christmas & Birthdays, a card you always sent.
Time & company, with you, not enough spent.
Nan, now that you are gone, & that must be.
Please remember, I love you, as much as you loved me.
