21. Lost Innocence
Wind whistling,
Snow glistening,
We try not to,
But we're all listening.
Wind whistling,
Snow glistening,
We try not to,
But we're all listening.
Another update for anyone who is curious. I am going on 21 years of age and as more time passes, I see more and more how my poem fits the world, especially now. In the time since I have made...

A single flash of a camera
And a moment frozen in time
Can never truly tell the tale
Of that child left behind.

We gather here once more
To remember a younger day,
When life was mostly before us
And the future a game to play.
Getting up in mornings for my usual day,
Though I really I just sit and think and lay,
It's hard, sometimes.
I know there's something great in me,
Something I struggle to find.
The days and months keep passing
As I lie here, stuck in my own mind.
The future of tomorrow seems so far away. Sadness filled my heart the day you walk away. I remember the little games we played with the memories that I have from yesterday. The future of...
In the depths of despair, where shadows dwell,
a pain poem emerges, a tale I must tell.
For pain, my dear friend, is a universal theme,
a haunting melody that shapes our dreams.
When demons pick at my troubled mind
And the passage to sleep becomes harder to find,
I close my eyes, turn out the light
And listen to the music of the night.
It was raining the day you told us,
And ever since I feel like it has not stopped pouring down.
I wish I could stop the rain falling,
And hold your head up and not let you drown.
My mother had cancer and just reading this tugs at my heart, and I start crying because I had the same experience as you. Just don't ever give up, things will get better. Just smile.
Tummies flat and waists so tiny,
Perky breasts and cleavage shiny,
Photoshopped into 'perfection,'
On display for our inspection.
You could have given up,
but you kept on going.
You could have seen obstacles,
but you called them adventures.
Another good one! I enjoyed it very much. And I think most of us can relate; I know I can. Thanks for sharing.
I look in the mirror at the beginning of each day,
and ask myself what mask should I place on my face today.
No not the sad one it's too revealing,
Every day everyone wears different masks to cover up their sadness. They put on masks of happiness, and you don’t know what’s in their mind. They cover up everything like their heartbreak....
Adversity brings out the best in you
It often helps to find something new -
A hidden talent or clears a doubt
Thank you for commenting on my poem. Stay blessed.
I look around for myself,
But a ghost is all I see.
I only see this ghost of a person I used to be.
I don't know who you are, but I know why you are here.
There is
a strength in you
you haven’t even
begun to find.
So true in that we really don't know how one will react until one has been there and has done it! Suffering is an important life experience. Great poem, thanks.
Life and death; without one there cannot be the other.
For some, it's short, but they live it like no other.
For most, it's long, and to be happy they don't ever bother.
Life cannot be lived without the love of others.
I found out last year that my best friend is dying. She's young and a mother to a beautiful little girl. She is smart, beautiful, and full of life. Watching someone I love die slowly has been...
I'm good enough;
I don't care what you say.
I'm proud of what
I accomplished today.
Wow! I absolutely, 100%, love this! I think this would be a good lesson for everyone to learn. People shouldn't just rely on others to compliment them, and just because somebody thinks...
All of my life
I was living in a lie.
It seems that my childhood
has flown right by.
As a child, I grew up without a father, so I know how it feels to be left alone most night because mum had work. When I cried there was no shoulder to cry on. I miss my dad dearly, but I'm...
We were put on this planet
To live and to love.
To cherish the ones in our lives
And never let them get hurt.
A BLINK of the eye, time flies by, as tomorrow turns into the past. Focusing on the minute only to get caught up in the moment. Working towards prudent goals leads you in the right direction....
Light up the way for me.
I'm scared of the dark.
Illuminate the blackest road
With the brightest spark.
This is the truth! I have had my share of life struggles, but my faith has allowed me to overcome my trials. Throughout your battles and rough roads, you have to believe that the light will...
The knot is strong,
The strings are tight.
It won't break loose,
No matter how much I fight.
I was really touched by the poem mam. My good friend's father also died 2 months ago, and I am really trying to do whatever I can. Giving them time, my love and support. But I don't know...
