About Ann D. Stevenson

Ann D. Stevenson only began writing after she retired, when she joined a Writing for Well-Being course. It was during a difficult time, as her husband had recently been diagnosed with cancer. She discovered that she really enjoyed writing, especially poetry. It was a real boost to her morale when Family Friend Poems began publishing her poems.
Ann was married for well over 50 years, but sadly is now widowed. However, she is lucky enough to have two happily married children and four grandchildren. She now lives in The Cotswolds in the UK. In the past, Ann has worked as a teacher, helped in a children’s home and spent some time as a PA.

Yes, I was touched by this poem. I too live alone and miss my husband more than I can say. We too met when I was just 16 years old. We were married for well over 50 years. Thank you for your poem. Best wishes, Ann.

Good advice - most of us have to learn to cope with things not working out quite as we hoped. Best wishes, Ann.

How I feel for you in the writing of this poem. I have recently lost my husband to cancer and now my beloved daughter-in-law has been diagnosed with cancer of the brain. Cancer is so cruel. Well done you being able to write about it. Best wishes, Ann.

Very strong and brave and a good writer. I find there is nothing like writing something down to help cope with it. Very best wishes, Ann.
