  1. Happy Birthday, Daughter

My daughter, Marsha, was born on Friday the 13th and my son on Mother's day. It should have been changed around. Although there were the teenage tangles, I have had a wonderful relationship with my daughter. She was my strength through my divorce, and I was there for her when her marriage dissolved. She's given me one grandson and 4 beautiful grandchildren. Now I'm 98 and she is the one helping me, sharing the good things in life.

Many are the joys in life.
I'm blessed with quite a few.
Still, most of all I'm grateful
To have a daughter just like you.

    • Published by Family Friend Poems January 2016 with permission of the Author.

This poem was written over the course of my daughter's first eighteen years of life. She was my dream come true, and on her third birthday her brother was born, making her the proudest big sister in the world! I started this poem in her very first birthday card and added a new stanza every year until her latest birthday (in the same card). She recently graduated high school and plans to pursue a career in nursing. She is a nurturer and an amazing daughter! I love you, Jenna, bigger than the sky!

    • By Angie Provost
    • Published by Family Friend Poems August 2010 with permission of the Author.

Our only daughter is turning 18 and will soon be leaving us for the big, bad world. She is our youngest and as such leaves us happy to have raised such an amazing daughter but sad to know our house will soon be empty. She is SUCH a Daddy's girl but in the best sense of the word. She is just like her father who is the best man I know. This poem is a tribute to both of them on her 18th birthday.

    Daddy's little girl.
Now cell phones and first cars
