I laughed; you joked.
I was down; you picked me up.
I crumbled; you glued me back together.

I loved you; you loved me back.

You jumped; I couldn't catch you.
You forgot to laugh; I couldn't remind you.
You were down; I couldn't hold you.
You crumbled; I had no glue.
You loved me; I still love you.

Without any warning or sign,
You ventured to a world divine.
I refused to say goodbye,
Yet tonight I cry.
My tears are for you, my friend,
But our legacy will not end.
For I shall see you soon,
But first I have living to do.
I promise I won't forget.
Your face is embedded in my heart.

Hearing The News A Loved One's Passing

I remember calls through my cell phone.
Voices on the other end being hurt and distant.
Long silent pauses as I let REALITY sink in.
Warm tears streaming down my cheeks.

I remember calls through my cell phone.
Voices on the other end being hurt and distant.
Long silent pauses as I let REALITY sink in.
Warm tears streaming down my cheeks.
I remember my body shaking, because REALITY
is too hard to believe.
Hanging the phone up abruptly, because I didn't want
to hear the details.
Laying there frozen, letting tears flow down my face like rivers.
Seeing images of their faces, knowing that this would be the last memory
I would have of them.
My sobs take over my body.
I cry myself to sleep hoping it isn't true,
Waking up hoping I had a bad dream.
I remember heartache, because my worst nightmare has just become my REALITY.
