Can earth be Earth when all its trees are gone,
And sudsy waters have become unfit,
And poisoned life no longer greets the dawn
With raucous sounds that death has caused to quit?

Can earth be Earth when all its trees are gone,
And sudsy waters have become unfit,
And poisoned life no longer greets the dawn
With raucous sounds that death has caused to quit?
Will trees no longer wave, with limbs unfurled,
On hapless earth, that ever in orbit roams?
Will human ego sacrifice the world
To satiate its lust for pompous homes?
Will distant space look down on orb that's bald.
I now can hear the mother say,
"I was once called Earth.
But now, bereft of mirth, I weep.
That treeless orb's no longer Earth."

Why I love my sister...

From his hug to his touch, his kiss, his smile, his stare, his warmth, I love everything about him.

I'm in love with a girl, but she doesn't see it, and I want her to, so I wrote this.

I wrote this poem the first time I fell in love with someone. I then came to know what love is and how it feels. I decided to write it down so I could express my views.

I wrote this March 29, 2009. I was in a good relationship and nothing was wrong at the time, but the poem just kind of struck me. I liked the idea, so I wrote it out. Now I am no longer with this guy and am now in a relationship with a guy from my school, and we are doing very well.

This was a poem originally composed by my loved one as a child. When she showed it to me, I immediately fell in love with it, so we worked on it again. This is dedicated and should be accredited solely to her. I love you.

Loneliness...it can destroy people. People pass you in the street and won't look twice. This poem is for those who have ever or do feel alone inside.

People only see what I let them see.

What life would be like if you were not in it. This poem makes strong use of similes to describe what life is like without the person they love. Similes compare two objects or ideas using the words "like" or "as".

I've always felt that true friendship is very important. The old saying, "A friend in need is a friend indeed," goes a long way. True friends will always be there for you, and you can always count on them, so my favorite thing to write about is friendship.

Dare to take a look at this peaceful spring day. The poem uses the 5 senses to describe nature. Using the 5 senses in writing creates a clearer picture and makes the readers feel a part of the setting.
