  1. A Prayer By Me

    • By Cm
    • Published by Family Friend Poems September 2018 with permission of the Author.

With all the emotions in my head, I feel like I can’t breathe, but no one would ever guess because I never talk about it. I wish I could, but I don’t know how. Only God knows, and this poem is a prayer I wrote to the guy on my side. But some days it’s hard to feel God’s love, and some days I come close to giving up. I pray that I keep my promise and that I keep pushing on, but it’s so, so hard. To anyone else out there feeling this way, give it a read, say a prayer, and don’t give up. We got this!

    in Prayer Poems

No one knows what I feel today
    Or that I'm dying inside.
No one knows the pain I'm in,
    For it's nothing a smile can't hide.

  2. The Light

    • By Jacob Kahn
    • Published by Family Friend Poems January 2016 with permission of the Author.

Frequent bouts of depression have left me crippled, thinking that I do not deserve to walk on this Earth. The light, in this case, is my mother. My poem is intended to guide others facing similar struggles to their Light. May it be a friend, a family member, or even yourself, you do have a Light. Keep searching, my friend.

    I can count on you.

  5. Stay Alive

My name is Leah. I write poems about the emotions I see on your face that no one else can. I'm here for you through my writing. My poetry style is inspired by TwentyOnePilots' amazing lyrical talents. This poem is about a girl lost in society's judgmental views. Her friend sees this and pleads with her to let her help her. In the end her friend introduces her to the Skeleton Clique, a place where she found that her insecurities will never define her, only make her stronger.

    • Published by Family Friend Poems December 2015 with permission of the Author.

When life gets too hard, and existence itself seems endurable, why should anyone hang on? When you reach the point where even the thought of the people you're leaving behind can't stop you, it is impossible to look back, to see the light in the world. I have a friend who has reached this point many times and attempted to take her own life on multiple occasions. There is so much I wish I could say to her. So much. I know it might not make a difference, but it helps me to know I tried.

  11. After You're Gone

My poem is meant for any teen who is considering ending their life by suicide. Teen suicide has become an epidemic, one that has affected me personally. I wrote this poem to make teens aware of what happens when they are gone. Hopefully, it will deter them from suicide.

  14. There Is An End To This

    • By Blake Auden
    • Published by Family Friend Poems April 2021 with permission of the Author.

I’ve struggled with my mental health for a long time now, and like anything, there are good days and bad days. But even at my lowest points, I try and remember the things I have already survived. I try and remind myself that every cracking sinew is just a moment in time.

Ultimately, no matter how desperate I’ve felt, no matter how unsurvivable the breakdown may seem, the surface of the water is always reachable, eventually. Sometimes you just need to hold your breath a little longer.

    in Hope Poems

    There is
    an end to this,
    I promise you.
