My Brother And I

Published: November 2007

I remember the days at the park
when we used to play from daylight to dark,
when I made mommy laugh for a while
and that made you smile.
I remember I wanted to grow up and be just like you,
I wanted to be loved the way they loved you.
When mommy told me you died
I fell on the ground and started to cry,
I couldn't believe it 'cause I felt you nearby.
How I got up, I don't know
'cause it was so hard to just let you go.
Before, I cried for a muffin,
but now it's the thought of you in a coffin.

When my brother passed so suddenly, it was most painful part of my life. I was blessed to have him with me for 6 months. We reconnected at that time, and my kids got to know him. It's been five years since, and the pain will not go away. I miss him every day and wish I could have said goodbye and I LOVE YOU! He was taken too soon. I lOVE YOU, my brother, my homie, my friend.
