we waited as if it was an eternity,
growing up with him every single
day or every other day wishing and
hoping that he would one day get
up and joke and play around with
everyone. like he always did. but he
knew it was his time, he knew the
angels were calling for him. a few
friendly faces to greet him through the
heavenly gates. so he lifted high and floated
high with no pain, God set him free of his pain.

My uncle died 2 days ago. He was my last uncle. He was so full of life. He would always laugh, dance, and take care of his family. He never complained or ever said no to anyone. I cannot pick up the phone and hear his voice and hear that laugh ever again or his words. When we hung up, he would say, "Okay, Niece, love you too"! He was 92 years old. You would never know it by the way he would get around. He slowed down after a stroke about 5 years ago. But before then, he was still driving to South Carolina with only one stop. He had his tapes and peppermints! I didn't believe it until I took a trip with him to S.C.

My uncle died. He was 27 years old, and he was the funniest, most handsome, and playful guy I've ever met. My uncle had a girlfriend. Her name is Sarah. He got killed in his sleep because his girlfriend got him mixed up in drugs. And so the lesson in life is to NEVER trust anyone you ever meet that you don't know. Because when I say that he was so important to me, I mean it. I loved him like he was my dad that I never had. He was so important to me! My family and I are in so much pain. The other lesson in life is to not do drugs. I'm sorry if this doesn't make sense. I have tears falling down my face.

This poem also relates to me in October 2011, I lost both of my maternal uncles. They were killed in Mexico, I miss them every single day even though I know that they are in a better place. I grew up without both of them, it broke my heart when I found out they had passed on. I miss them soo much.
