STOP Cutting Poem

Cut Self To Death

My friend use to cut. He wanted to stop but he just couldn't. So he cut himself one time and he cut too deep. He bled to death right in front of my eyes and this poem is his story. Trevor rest in peace

I am really sorry for that, although it has never happened to me, I can feel the pains.

Too Late

The blood is gushing out
I don't know what I have done
you say it isn't right
but I wish it wasn't wrong
the blade keeps touching my wrist
I don't know what I have become
I wish I could just stop
but it's too late
the light has already come

I am so sorry to hear about your friend. I'm a cutter for almost 2 years now and this story really got me thinking. My best friend who knows me, tells me stuff like this. That I could go too far one day without even knowing it and by then it would be too late. It's really got me wanting to be more careful...it's good that you posted this story, because now it can help so many others.

Let me first say how sorry I am that your friend couldn't help himself. I had a friend like this. He had a lot of problems, he was anorexic, an ex heroin addict, and a cutter. We had three of two things in common. We always talked about stopping but his mind was gone a month before he died. He wasn't himself. He cut too deep and he was gone before New Years. He was one of my best friends, and he was only one of my best friends I've lost to suicide that I've witnessed.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend, no matter when it happened. I had the same thing happen when I went to visit my cousin, and she was actually trying to commit suicide, but I got there too late to stop her, and she died while I was holding her without any idea what to do. I really can't say much, I'm a writer myself, and an on-and-off cutter. I don't want to sound insensitive, but maybe there was a good reason for what happened, because tonight this poem made me realize just how much I was about to hurt everyone. Thank you for writing it, even though you couldn't have known it would ever help anyone.
