Appreciating Dad Poem

This poem is about my childhood years. When I was about 7 my parents got a divorce and my mom got re-married. At the time I was living with my mom and step-dad. Around the age of 9 or 10 I started to get beat by my step-dad. The days still stick with me by my side as I will always remember those horrible days. I've since then got help and I'm now living with my real dad who would not even think about hitting me!!

Living My Life With And Without Dad!

Life with my real dad is so much better,
being beat by my step-dad sure did matter,
not having to live that life I once did,
and being able to live my life as a kid.

If it wasn't for my dad I wouldn't know where I would be,
he helped me stand for what is right,
he brought out the best in me!

There's not enough words to explain how I feel,
Dad, I love you so much even if you are over the hill.

I appreciate everything you have done for me,
to get me into a great life and out from a bad one indeed!

Dad when my teenage years are over,
I know that I will see,
that my life was lived its very best,
with you walking right next to me!!!
