I Remember

I remember the first time I saw her
A loving, caring, honest person
Very quiet, never said a word to anyone
So many reasons to love her
When she smiled, she smiled like a sun shining in the sky
When she talked, talked about something simple
She was a great grandma

I remember all the things she used to do
Sitting for hours
Telling us her childhood stories
The smell of her homemade cookies
Working in her garden
Pulling all the weeds
And gently planting seeds
She was a special grandma
One that I always will adore
She taught me right from wrong

When I saw that yellow butterfly
Land upon my window sill
The beauty I saw in front of me
Reminded me of grandma, I know it always will
I just wish I could see her and
Hug one more time
Tell her how much I miss her and love her.
